Getting back into knitting slowly. Too much going on to have time to sit and knit in the last couple of months. Thanks to you all who still check in.

bring on (more of) the heat!

bring on the heat!

I was so ready for the heat! I got this baby a week in advance of the record breaking heat wave we had yesterday. Man, was it hot! Brick building, south west exposure and multiple window fans is like a convection oven! Doing anything out of range of the A/C's path was unbearable. Sure, we NW people complain while eastcoasters get this type of weather throughout most of the summer, but they are equipped with A/C everywhere! Out here central air is rare in a home. I know the electricity bill is going to be a bitch to pay with this thing running but it is so worth it.

Never thought I would make an afghan! These mitered squares are so fun to make. The changing of colors and decreasing stitches keeps the monotony at bay.

I finally finished a project. Nothing better than a pattern that only requires two pieces. This is from Adrienne Vittadini Summer 07 booklet. Knit with four balls of Rowan 4 Ply Cotton. It took a couple of tries to figure out the "holey" double yarn over pattern and tension. For the shoulder seams it is best to employ the short row three needle bind off. You want the seam to have some give so that it hangs over the shoulders, and the needle seaming made it too noticeable and and stiff.

Aarghh! I haven't posted all month. I've been feeling lazy-- more so than normal.

Working lots and finishing nothing. This one maybe finished in time to wear during the summer months.
